In this interesting short clip, Dr Colinda Linde discusses the similarities between stigma associated with Mental Illnesses and COVID-19. Many fear the diagnoses of anxiety, depression and more recently, COVID-19, which results in them not seeking appropriate treatment. Understandably, a large reason for this fear is the stigma which is prevalent in society globally.
We all have an important role as health care workers, especially those in the mental health setting, to combat this stigma with advocacy and encouragement.
